26 new projects approved for funding

Following the final evaluation of project proposals in the Second and Third calls, the Monitoring Committee has approved 26 project ideas for funding. Out of the approved projects, 15 are regular projects from the Second call, and 11 are small projects from the Third call.

The Joint Secretariat will contact the approved projects for funding in the coming days. Below, you’ll find the list of project acronyms approved for funding, sorted alphabetically according to the corresponding call and Programme Objectives.

These 26 approved projects will proceed to fulfil any conditions set for contracting, thereafter addressing the key challenges and needs of participating countries (Estonia, Finland, including Åland, Latvia, and Sweden) in business development, environment and resource use, employment opportunities, and public services.



Information about the rejected projects

Projects not approved by the Monitoring Committee will receive an Administrative Decision on Rejecting the Project Proposal from the Managing Authority in March 2024. This document includes the reasoning for rejection (protocol note from the Monitoring Committee meeting) and information about the option to appeal this decision.


In total, 45% of the project applications were approved by the Monitoring Committee. The Programme will allocate approximately 22,1 million euros to approved projects in the second step of the Second call and Third call.

Second call overview

In total, the Programme received 53 project proposals for the Second call. Among these, 45 were regular project applications, and 8 were small project applications. Following the first decisions, 5 small projects secured funding, and 24 regular projects advanced to the second-step application phase. Ultimately, 15 of these regular projects were approved for funding.

On average, 45% of the submitted proposals, encompassing both regular and small projects, are approved for funding in the Second call.

In total, the ERDF allocated to the approved projects in the Second call is 20.2 million euros.

Third call overview

In summary, 23 small project proposals were submitted for the Third call, with 11 of them receiving approval for funding.

On average, 45% of the submitted small project proposals are approved for funding in the Third call.

The ERDF allocated to the approved projects in the Third call is 1.9 million euros.

Background

The decisions were reached during the meeting of the Monitoring Committee in Sweden on February 6-7, 2024. The committee consists of national, regional, local, and social representatives from the participating countries/Åland.
