Country meet-up at Katus Stuudio

On Tuesday, 13 April, we had a lovely country meet-up at Katus Studio – a garage that has been turned into a woodcarving workshop by its owner, Markus Meldo. Markus is an alumnus of the creative accelerator program at the Tartu Centre of Creative Industries. He is creating hand-carved hair accessories and home essentials, all crafted from leftover wood to ensure nothing goes to waste! Fun fact: in addition to his woodcarving skills, Markus is also a barista.

We enjoyed the peaceful process of woodcarving and had a nice catch-up with everyone. We took the opportunity to ask Markus as many questions as possible about his journey to becoming an entrepreneur, and learned the tricks of making the perfect spoon. Markus served us all with café lattes and his homemade French apple pie!

We spent a lovely afternoon together, and as a bonus, everyone made a wooden spoon!
