ReFish at Matglädje festival

On August 9, 2025, the island of Houtskär in Pargas, Finland, welcomed more than 200 visitors — a mix of tourists, summer residents, and locals — for the popular Matglädje festival. The Re:fish project was represented with an eye-catching poster display, which provided festival-goers with a chance to discover more about the initiative while enjoying the day’s celebrations.

By reaching such a broad and diverse audience, the event helped spread awareness of marine litter issues and inspired conversations about protecting the sea, even in everyday settings like local food and cultural events.
