Local Meetups boost business networking

One of CDG-Booster’s activities is Local Meetups, organised on-site in Estonia, Finland and Sweden. In these two-to-three-hour small-scale sessions, businesses and other stakeholders can connect with one another and explore collaboration opportunities, all while listening to engaging keynote speakers and building their know-how through real-world connected practices. These easy-access events are often the first step for companies to enter the CDG-Booster community and join its ever-growing Discord community.

In Lahti, the home town of one of the CDG-Booster consortium partners, LAB University of Applied Sciences, already five meetups have been organised. On Friday, 16 April, the theme of the gathering was marketing and visibility – the importance of being visible, no matter what. The session included two talks: a CDG-Booster expert talk by Marjut Suokas from LAB, and an AR entrepreneur talk by Sami Jahnukainen from Accelerator-selected Donkey Hotel. Both highlighted that you can’t wait until your product, service, or brand is perfect to start telling people about it. If no one knows you exist, it doesn’t matter how mint your product is.

The participants also had the opportunity to experiment with AR/VR/XR equipment and ideate new potential uses.

As always, the best part of the session was the organic flow of insightful discussions.
