Test your textile sorting skills with the new SampoSort game 

Repair it, donate it or recycle it? The SampoSort textile sorting game puts your knowledge to the test and helps you make better choices when clothes and other textiles are no longerneeded. 

A new educational textile sorting game developed as part of the SustainaCycle project by LAB University of Applied Science, is now available on the LAB’s website. 

The idea is simple: different textile items appear in the game and your task is to decide what should happen to them next. Can the item still be used? Could it be repaired? Is it suitable for donationand reuse, or has it reached the point where it should be sent for textile recycling? 

The game highlights an important part of the circular economy: not every unwanted textile is waste. Keeping clothes and other textiles in use for as long as possible helps save resources. Whenan item can no longer be reused, sorting it correctly can help ensure that its material has a chance to return to circulation instead of being lost as mixed waste. 

The game supports one of the key aims of SustainaCycle – raising awareness and helping people understand how and why to sort waste better.  

Play in five languages 

The game is available in English, Estonian, Finnish, Latvian and Swedish, making it possible to use the same educational tool across the SustainaCycle partner countries. 

The language can be changed in the top right corner of the game’s home screen.
