Mentoring Workshop in Riga: A Day of Learning and Empowerment!

Blog post is written by CeMeWE project manager Andra Marta Babre from Riga Technical University and Interreg Youth Volunteer Anna.

Our recent Mentoring Workshop “Individual Learning and Empowerment ” at the Old Riga Terrace was a fantastic success! We had an amazing turnout of twenty eager women who came to boost their confidence, enhance their skills, and work towards their career goals.

We had hands-on activities and lively discussions that kept everyone engaged and sharing their experiences in job searching and learning from each other. The participants used the SMILE tool, developed in the project “SMAIL (Skattning Mot Arbete I Länet)” in Uppsala (Sweden). It was considered to be a super practical approach to help you grow your abilities and set personal goals. Participants were thrilled with it and looked forward to the positive impact it could have on their lives.

Co-creation activities are a vital component of our project. During the workshop, participants collaboratively brainstormed ideas for future mentoring activities. Among the suggestions were workshops on creating CVs and preparing for job interviews, activities with local Latvians to better understand the language and culture, and meetings with companies from various industries. These initiatives are planned to begin in September of this year at Riga Technical University.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees appreciating the practical insights and warm atmosphere. The Mentoring Workshop is all about giving people the tools and support they need to grow personally and professionally. Our mission is to empower women through interactive sessions, personalized guidance, and practical tools like SMILE.

We can’t wait to host more events like this in the future and continue supporting and inspiring women in their career journey. If you have any questions or need more info, feel free to reach out to project manager in Riga andra-marta.babre@rtu.lv
