Webinar in Latvian: “Orientation in European Union regulations for strengthening circularity in the textile industry”
Within the framework of the Baltic2Hand project, LCCI together with sustainable fashion experts from the “Green Freedom” association, former director of the “Providus” think tank and public policy expert Dace Akule are organizing a webinar on the European Union’s regulations for strengthening circularity in the textile industry.
In 2022, the European Commission came up with an ambitious plan to strengthen the circular economy in the textile industry in order to reduce its negative impact on the environment. Since then, policymakers in the European Union have been working productively on new regulations that already affect and will soon affect various participants in the textile circulation ecosystem, from raw material and product producers to consumers and waste managers. Eco-design criteria, limits on green deception, digital product passport and extended producer responsibility are just some of these innovations. What do they mean and what changes do they promise?
The purpose of the webinar is to help orientate the main elements of the EU policy, to understand the upcoming requirements and opportunities, as well as to identify ways to influence them.
The webinar’s target audience is all participants of the textile ecosystem, from raw material and product producers to consumers and waste managers.
Webinar leader – Dace Akule. Dace is interested in everything related to sustainability in the textile industry – from production and consumption to sorting and processing of textile products.
