Collaborative Success: Sustainable Flow Project and Joint Workshops at the Estonian Maritime Cluster Business Seminar

On 20th of March, 2025, the Estonian Maritime Cluster gathered industry leaders at Tallinn TV Tower for highly engaging event focused on collaboration, innovation, and joint problem solving. The highlight of the event was the interactive workshops, where experts worked together to develop concrete strategies for the future of the maritime sector.

Sustainable Flow project organised an event that focused on steps toward greener maritime solutions. As part of this collaborative effort, the Lead Project Manager from Satakunta University of Applied Science Heikki Koivisto gave a short presentation about the Sustainable Flow project, showcasing its vision and the potential impact on maritime sustainability. Koivisto introduced important project activities, promises and future contributions also to the Estonian Maritime Cluster. Digitalisation of CO2 emissions reporting and providing support to decision-making capabilities is one of the key next steps of the project.

By bringing together key stakeholders and fostering active participation, the event demonstrated the power of collective action in shaping a smarter, more sustainable maritime industry. Furthermore, the event placed a strong emphasis on working together to create value, with participants actively engaging in three hands-on joint workshops:

  • Retrofit Hub – Exploring maritime retrofitting solutions for a greener industry
  • Ports as Energy Hubs – Examining the role of ports in energy transition and sustainability
  • Shipping & Logistics Digitalisation – Leveraging digital tools to optimize operations and enhance efficiency

These workshops provided a dynamic platform for cross-industry cooperation, allowing experts to exchange knowledge, develop actionable ideas, and strengthen partnerships within the maritime sector.
