ReNuW-Hubs partners gathered to meeting days in Tartu!
ReNuW-Hubs project partners gathered to the second consortium meeting during 17–18 June in Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tartu, Estonia. The meeting was hosted by Professor Mait Kriipsalu and his team.
In the first morning we had a pleasure to hear Professor in Soil Science Merrit Shanskiy and Head of Rõhu Experimental Station Toomas Tõrra presenting how EULS performs indoor and outdoor tests with organic fertilizers; and got also a chance to visit the test fields in Eerika, the experimental farm of EULS. The day continued with discussions on preliminary results of the project as well as with an internal workshop on some of the next steps.
On the second day of our consortium meeting we visited Clean Water Theme Park on the Metsamõisa farm in Järsi village. The team took part in XIII Pandivere Water Day & VI Dry Toilet conference ‘Sitt ja Linn’ aka ’Shit and the City’. Thank you for your hospitality and hosting an interesting day Priit Adler, CEO of the farm!
The conference was hybrid with around 100+ participants. During the day our team:
- ReNuW-Hubs project was introduced by Veijo Pönni from Finland Futures Research Centre, University of Turku.
- Mobile wastewater treatment device for remote sewage systems was introduced by Antti Grönroos from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
- Robin Erih Kubpart from Estonian University of Life Sciences talked about his research on wastewater treatment in small Estonian ports.
