Showcasing Practical Reuse Solutions at the Industry Conference Aprite 2030 in Liepāja, Latvia
The national waste management industry conference Aprite 2030: Shared Vision for the Future was held in Liepāja, Latvia, on September 10–11, 2026. Jointly organized by SIA Liepājas RAS and the Latvian Circular Economy Company Association (LASUA), the two-day event brought together waste management professionals, municipal leaders, government officials, policymakers, researchers, and circular economy experts from across Latvia and Europe.
On September 11, Laima Druva, ReSolutions Project Manager at SIA Liepājas RAS, took the stage to share practical experience and insights into implementing circular economy systems and to highlight the impact of the ReSolutions project. Over the course of the three-year project, SIA Liepājas RAS will:
- establish item exchange points at three waste sorting sites in Latvia’s South Kurzeme waste management region
- introduce user-friendly automated registration stations—including scales, visitor counters, and shelf cameras—to monitor and analyze the flow of reused items without creating unnecessary bureaucracy for visitors
- pilot a Library of Things initiative to explore how sharing networks can effectively serve local communities.
The circular economy begins not with recycling, but with a simple question: Can this item still be useful? Through the ReSolutions project, the partners are turning that question into practical solutions for everyday life.
