Less, but Better: SustainaCycle campaign encourages smarter everyday choices
On 8 October, the SustainaCycle project launched its “Less, but Better” awareness campaign in Estonia, Latvia and Finland. The campaign encourages people and businesses to make more thoughtfulchoices, use resources more efficiently and reduce unnecessary waste.
The campaign is built around a simple idea: a better life does not necessarily mean owning more things. Buying only what we need, choosing durable products, repairing instead of replacing and giving items a second life can all help reduce waste and save resources.
Through a series of social media posts, digital advertisements and other communication materials, the campaign offers practical tips for everyday life. Topics include avoiding impulse purchases, extending thelife of products, choosing second-hand items and recognising where valuable materials are lost in business operations.
The same campaign concept and visual identity are being used in Estonia, Latvia and Finland, with messages translated and adapted for local audiences. The campaign also supports the wider SustainaCycleobjective of improving the collection, reuse and recycling of plastic, textile and electronic waste.
“Less, but Better” reminds us that the most sustainable choice often happens long before something becomes waste.
The campaign is part of the SustainaCycle project’s awareness-raising activities and is coordinated by Valmiera Development Agency in cooperation with project partners.
