NEET-TO-MEDIA partners meet in Jõelähtme and exchange local good practices
On 2 October 2026, twelve participants from Jõelähtme and Valmiera municipalities came together in Jõelähtme, Estonia, for a NEET-TO-MEDIA partner meeting. The Valmiera delegation included representatives from several municipal departments, including planning, bringing a broader perspective to the exchange.
The day began at the municipal offices with welcoming remarks by Deputy Mayor Elina Piirimäe, followed by an overview of project progress and an introduction to Jõelähtme Municipality. The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the Estonian and Latvian partners and learn more about the local context in which the project is being implemented.
The programme combined project discussions with visits to the Rebala Heritage Reserve, Kostivere Cultural Manor, and Kostivere Youth Centre and fire station. The partners also visited the Jägala Waterfall area, where conversations continued over lunch.
The architectural design of the Kostivere Youth Centre and fire station attracted particular interest from Valmiera’s planning department representatives. They appreciated the solution bringing these two functions together and expressed a strong interest in presenting it to colleagues in Valmiera Municipality as an example of good practice.
The visit demonstrated how cooperation through NEET-TO-MEDIA can also encourage a wider exchange of ideas between municipalities, connecting the project’s focus on young people with practical examples of local services and community facilities.
NEET-TO-MEDIA supports young people in Estonia and Latvia in developing practical film and media skills, building confidence, and exploring pathways towards employment.
