Regiostars: Central Baltic project among the 30 finalists

We are excited to return from summer holidays with this great announcement that one of our cooperation projects from 2014-2020 funding period has been selected as a finalist in the European Regiostars awards! Since 2008, this competition awards the best cohesion-funded projects that demonstrate excellence and new approaches in regional development.

An independent jury selected five finalists per category among the 228 applications received in 2023.

The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 project EfficientFlow is nominated in the category “A connected Europe”. The project made real time port information available for all the actors involved when a ship arrives to a port. Having the information at everyone’s fingertips, resulted in easier planning, more efficient use of resources, lower emissions and cost savings. The solution is available to anyone in the world since it is based on open-source code. Starting with two ports in the project, the solution is now used operationally in more than 25 ports in the region.
