Winter Updates: Ongoing Assessments and Upcoming Events

As we head toward the end of the year, several important activities are underway across the Central Baltic Programme.

Ongoing assessment of project applications

At present, the Programme does not have any open calls for project applications. The assessment of the 119 applications submitted under the Fifth Call is ongoing.
The Monitoring Committee will make final decisions on project approvals on 27–28 January 2026, and the results will be communicated shortly thereafter.

Åland Networking Lunch

A networking lunch will take place on 9 December in Åland, arranged by the national Contact Point for Åland. The event will be held in Swedish and is exclusively for partners of ongoing Central Baltic projects. It offers a valuable opportunity for project teams to strengthen cooperation, share experiences, and stay connected with peers in the region.

Joint Online Meeting for Objectives 3 & 4

On 16 December 2025, we will host an online meeting (in English) bringing together projects funded under:

The event is designed to celebrate progress, exchange insights, and encourage cross-project learning. The programme will conclude with a keynote address by Timo Huhtamäki, who will offer inspirational perspectives on collaboration, innovation, and regional impact.

New Year Networking Brunch in Helsinki

This event is organised by the national Contact Point in Finland for Finnish project partners to meet in a relaxed brunch to share ideas and set the tone for 2026.

Final Events of VINCE and BalticReed – Our OSI Projects

We are pleased to share that two projects – VINCE and BalticReed – designated as Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI) – will host their final events in Finland in January 2026. These projects are marking important milestones in advancing strategic cross-border cooperation and highlighting the long-term value of their results for the Central Baltic region.

Integration in the digital age – artificial intelligence, co-creation and interaction

The project’s final seminar is taking place on Thursday, 22 January 2026,
at Turku City Theatre, Finland.
