Call for Digital Pilots for the World Food Program
This your unique opportunity to work directly with World Food Program by responding on their call for digital innovationsThe World Food Program (WFP) is the food assistance branch of the United Nations and the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and food security.

It provides emergency food aid in crisis situations and supports long-term development by improving nutrition and building resilience in vulnerable communities. WFP operates in over 120 countries and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for its efforts to combat hunger and promote peace in conflict-affected areas.
Together with WFP, Finnpartnership and INGOs -project consortium (Business Tampere, RISE Sweden, Tallinn Tehnopol and IT Cluster Latvia), we are bringing four concrete challenges available. For these challenges, World Food Program is now looking a partner to pilot new innovative solutions. Target country for piloting is Indonesia. For companies this is a good opportunity to create awareness and build references working with UN entities that can open the larger scale doors in the future.
Open innovation challenges are following:
1. Real-Time Monitoring: Current systems lack real-time insights. Integrated dashboards and mobile tools are needed for better tracking and decision-making.
2. Food Safety Risks: Rising food poisoning cases reveal gaps across the supply chain. Solutions like IoT, AI, robotics, and smart packaging are needed for real-time detection, monitoring, and prevention.
3. Supply Chain Mismatch: Feeding 83 million daily is hindered by supply-demand imbalances. Digital platforms and forecasting tools can boost efficiency and reduce waste.
4. Training at Scale: With 48,000+ staff, training lags behind. Scalable digital learning platforms are essential for consistent quality and safety.
