General Assembly in Kurzeme, Latvia

The SuRuMo project held its fourth General Assembly meeting in Kurzeme on 4–5 November. In addition to the regular agenda items concerning project status, progress, and finances, we also had the opportunity to visit several of the pilot sites in Vāne and Alsunga. The programme further included a guided City Tour of Tukums, offering valuable insights into local initiatives and developments.

It became clear that the conditions in rural areas of Latvia differ significantly from those in Riga, which was not unexpected. Yet the commitment to improving rural life is just as strong in Latvia as in our Swedish pilot sites. We met proud and dedicated individuals who have already achieved a great deal, demonstrating remarkable creativity and determination in driving local development forward.
