General assembly in Linköping, Sweden
On May 13–14, the SuRuMo project group met in Linköping for a two-day General Assembly. The group includes representatives from the project’s partner organizations: AB Östgötatrafiken, Riga Planning Region, Kurzeme Planning Region, VTI (The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute), and Linköping University.
The meeting began with a review of the status of the two work packages. In the second work package, we focused on the mobility needs and preferences identified at the various pilot sites. As part of the program, we also visited one of the project partners, VTI, where we had the opportunity to ride one of the self-driving (automated) buses (“Ride the Future”) that operates on the university campus where VTI is located. Participants also got to try out the cycling simulator developed by VTI.
On the second day, we covered the usual agenda items, including the project’s finances and ways to enhance cross-border collaboration in our communication efforts. We also explored the digital platform that has been procured to showcase the mobility options available during the pilot phase. Freelway, the platform provider, joined us on-site to give a live demonstration and answer questions about the platform’s features and future development potential.
