Balt-Fin-Cider 2nd Partner Meeting in Pärnu
On September 8, the second Balt-Fin Cider partner meeting took place in Pärnu, Estonia. Project partners and craft cider makers from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland gathered to review project progress and plan upcoming activities together. The meeting was complemented by two online webinars led by renowned UK cider expert Gabe Cook, also known as “The Ciderologist”:
- Technical Webinar – with Gabe Cook (The Ciderologist) and Sigrid Gertsen Schibbye (Lallemand Brewing), focusing on apple selection for cider-making, pressing techniques, yeast choices, nutrition, and quality control throughout the production process.
- Commercial Webinar – with Gabe Cook and Tom Oliver (Oliver’s Cider & Perry Ltd., UK), addressing key business topics such as market understanding, product identity, packaging, and brand building.
At the end of the day, the first meeting of the Steering Group was held, bringing together its members:

The Steering Group discussed the availability of Latvian state support for export activities, shared recommendations for brand development, and explored how each member could contribute to the future growth and international positioning of the Baltic Cider brand.
