Baltic Nature Tourism Entrepreneurs Meet in Latvia to Strengthen Ties with the United Kingdom Travel Market
On 12 November, ANNAS KOKU School hosted nature and rural tourism entrepreneurs from Latvia and Estonia for a joint exploration of how Baltic travel products can be adapted for visitors from the United Kingdom.
The day opened with a guided walk through ANNAS KOKU School and its surrounding park. Edgar, the host, encouraged participants to view the landscape through a new lens, focusing on the use of wood and natural materials in sustainable construction and outdoor design.
The seminar continued with an overview of the achievements of the three year Baltic Nature Tourism project, which brings together around 120 entrepreneurs from both countries. Their offers are presented on the shared platform balticnaturetourism.com, which has become a central showcase for nature travel experiences in the Baltic region.
Our cooperation partner Andy Fairburn from the Nordic Tourism Collective presented current trends in the United Kingdom market and shared practical advice on adapting Baltic nature tourism products to match the interests of British travellers.
A timely and refreshing pause followed in the form of Office Yoga. Light humour and simple movements created an energising atmosphere and encouraged more relaxed conversations among participants.
In the afternoon, a panel discussion titled “The Future of Nature Tourism in the Baltics” brought together entrepreneurs to share their experience working with international guests and to outline opportunities for future cooperation.
The event concluded with a presentation of the Bruntor cargo e scooter, an environmentally friendly mobility option that sparked genuine curiosity and several remarks along the lines of “we could use one of these”.
We extend our gratitude to all participants, project partners Dabas Tūrisms, Puhkus Maal, Eesti Loodusturismi Ühing, and the team at ANNAS KOKU School for their warm welcome and engaged participation.
This activity was carried out with the support of the Interreg Central Baltic Programme 2021–2027 project “Baltic Nature Tourism – Developing the United Kingdom Target Market”, co financed by the European Union.
