Estonian and Finnish Companies Co-Create Smart Mobility Solutions in Joint Offering Workshop
24–25 September 2025 – The ISMEF project took a major step forward this week as Estonian and Finnish companies came together in a dynamic Joint Offering workshop, aimed at co-developing innovative solutions for international mobility challenges.
From Collaboration to Concrete Solutions
On the first day, participants engaged in intensive co-creation sessions, forming cross-border teams and aligning their expertise to tackle real-world challenges. The second day was dedicated to showcasing the results: four joint solutions were presented, each addressing a specific challenge:
- Challenge 1: Smooth and predictable cross-border freight

And the Winner Is…
After the presentations, a jury selected one standout solution:
“The City Climate Brain”, developed for Challenge 2.

Workshop Moderator: Evan Costagliola – Driving Breakthroughs in Mobility Innovation
The workshop was expertly facilitated by Evan Costagliola, Managing Director of Cityfi Europe, who brought two decades of global experience in civic innovation and smart mobility to the event.
Evan’s career spans public-private partnerships, policy leadership at Lime, and pioneering municipal mobility programs in Seattle. His deep understanding of urban systems and strategic insight helped guide participants through six complex business challenges presented by clients and partners from Finland, Estonia, and beyond.
As moderator, Evan played a key role in unlocking fresh solutions across diverse areas of mobility and transport—ranging from people and goods movement to emerging subsectors. His collaborative approach was instrumental in turning challenges into actionable opportunities.
A Showcase of Cross-Border Innovation
The workshop clearly highlighted how collaboration across borders can accelerate innovation. By combining complementary strengths, the participating companies generated ideas and solutions that go beyond national boundaries.
This event was organized within the framework of the ISMEF project, supported by the Interreg Central Baltic Programme, in cooperation with ITS Finland and ITS Estonia.
