Exchange visit to Finland from 4 to 6 May 2026
From May 4–6, another cross-border study trip took place, this time to the picturesque Saimaa Lake region in Finland. During the three insightful days, participants had the opportunity to explore local creative and tourism businesses, meet inspiring entrepreneurs, and hear about their success stories, experiences and challenges in business development.
The study trip programme was diverse and provided valuable insights into the tourism, accommodation, and handicraft sectors. Participants visited several exciting destinations and businesses, including Löyly Restaurant, Käärmekallio Animal Yard, the city of Savonlinna and Olavinlinna Castle, Mikkeli Geopark, Pauliina Rungren Handicrafts, Kuplas Shop, Sahanlahti Resort, Pistohiekka Resort and Ollinmäki Winery.
In addition to the inspiring visits, active networking played an important role throughout the study trip. Participants established many new contacts, exchanged experiences, and developed ideas and opportunities for future cooperation. The trip offered valuable inspiration and provided fresh ideas for entrepreneurship and tourism development.
