Meet Pat – Bringing new energy to user testing to ensure inclusive and user-driven development
VINCE´s Turku based project partner Sateenkaari Koto has a new team member, Pat Kulka-Kowalczyk, who brings fresh, new energy and valuable competencies to the project. With a stronger team there will be a clearer focus on AI-translated language tests and an improved connection between end-user experience and application´s technical development.

So far, the Sateenkaari Koto team has already tested tens of languages, with many more still to be explored. With dedicated resources in place, the project can more effectively address the complexities of multilingual application testing and feed critical feedback directly back to the development team — an essential step in improving usability and relevance for the end users.
Pat brings coordination experience and multilingual insight
Pat brings years of experience coordinating international projects across Poland and the Nordics, including a recent internship at Sateenkaari Koto through the VINCE project. They have also worked as a migrant counsellor at the International House Turku, supporting newcomers with job seeking, education, and navigating local services.
Pat’s expertise lies in curating trustworthy websites, researching translation needs, and enhancing application usability. Speaking Polish, English, Finnish, and Russian—as well as several other Slavic languages— Pat’s input really empowers diverse translation testing.
“For me, VINCE is more than just a digital platform – it’s a step towards real inclusion. By involving migrants directly in designing the services, we ensure the platform truly reflects their needs and experiences. This project is about giving migrants a voice and the tools to build their future with dignity, no matter where they are.”
– Pat Kulka-Kowalczyk
Continuing Sateenkaari Koto’s community-oriented testing approach, Pat will lead sessions with migrants living in the Turku region, often meeting participants where it’s most convenient for them—such as university campuses or libraries. This autumn and winter, they will also organize group testing sessions and you can also meet them at local wellbeing events alongside Katja Ollikainen, Sateenkaari Koto´s project coordinator for VINCE.
