New Nordic project partners visited Lake Saimaa Mikkeli and Savonlinna regions in August 2025. The goal of the trip was to present the destinations and the regions’ tourism prorducts to the partners.

Arrival by train to Mikkeli
17.00 Transfer from Mikkeli railway station to Tertti Manor
17.15 Site inspection, visiting the shop in Tertti Manor
Kick off meeting and dinner in Tertti Manor Restaurant
Short walk in Tertti gardens
19.15 Transfer from Tertti to Sokos Hotel Vaakuna
20.30 Transfer from Sokos Hotel Vaakuna to Kaihu Sauna Restaurant & Sauna at Kaihu (bring swimsuit with you)
22.30 Transfer from Kaihu to Sokos Hotel Vaakuna and overnight in Sokos Hotel Vaakuna

9.00 Check out and transfer from Sokos Hotel Vaakuna to Rock Art Center Astuva in Ristiina
9.45 Astuva Rock Art Center visit
9.55 Boat transfer from Ristiina to Astuvansalmi Rock Paintings
10.20 Visitig Astuvansalmi Rock paintings and a short scenic walk
11.00 Boat transfer to Kallioniemi
11.15 Transfer from Kallioniemi to Sahanlahti Resort
12.00 Site inspection & lunch at Sahanlahti Resort
13.30 Transfer from Sahanlahti Resort to Savonlinna
14.30 Check in Sokos Hotel Seurahuone
15.30 Olavinlinna guided tour (1 hour walking tour)
17.00 SS Punkaharju Cruise on Lake Saimaa
18.30 Site inspection of Hotel Punkaharju and dinner in Metsä Restaurant
20.30 Transfer from Hotel Punkaharju to Savonlinna
21.00 Arrival to Savonlinna
Overnight in Sokos Hotel Seurahuone
