New team member strengthens Bio-CCU’s WP4 on algae cultivation

The Bio-CCU project is pleased to welcome Filipe Arruda to the team at the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU). Originally from Portugal, Filipe will be working on Work Package 4 (WP4) (Demonstration).

His addition brings extra capacity to one of the project’s core technical components: cultivating microalgae using captured biogenic CO₂, then converting the resulting biomass into biochar, which will be applied as a soil enhancement product, a key step in the value chain that underpins Bio-CCU’s goal of turning residual streams into practical, market-ready solutions.

We are excited to have Filipe on board at this stage of the project and look forward to the progress his work will bring to WP4 in the coming months.
