Culinary Experiences in the Experience Economy
On March 3, an inspiring webinar took place with Niclas Fjellström. This webinar explores how culinary experiences can create value for visitors, local communities, and small businesses. The session introduces the concept of the experience economy and explains how food-related activities can move beyond products and services to become meaningful, memorable experiences.
Participants will learn how culinary experiences can strengthen rural development, support the resilience of SMEs and increase destination attractiveness.
The lecture also introduces the 5 A’s Framework (Accessibility, Accommodation, Activities, Added Value and Advertising), a practical tool for planning and developing culinary experiences. Real-life international examples and current trends in food tourism will be presented, along with practical guidance on how small businesses can design, test and develop successful experience concepts.
The session concludes with a discussion and reflection on how these ideas can be applied locally and how the Culinary Heritage Network can support future experience development.
