Turkish farmers and dealers in BreedExpo2 roadshow
In 14.-19.of September 2025 the group of 15 farmers and dealers from Turkey visited Finland, Estonia and Latvia. The aim of the visit was to learn from best practices in animal husbandry and discuss new cooperation opportunities. Turkey is an important target market for dairy cattle. During last year Estonia is also exporting breeding materials to Turkey.
The visit started in Finland, where there was a meeting with Finnish Animal Breeders Association, Finnish Farmers Union and Viking Genetics. These organizations presented their activities and cooperation ideas, after that the group visited Viking Genetics embryo center. In Estonia the group had very useful meeting in Animal Breeders Association of Estonia main office and bull station. The CEO of the association Tanel Bulitko presented Estonian cattle breeding sector, after that the Turkish farmers visited the laboratory and saw the breeding bulls. Jane Mättik from Estonian Beef Breeders Association presented the beef cattle performance analysis project in cooperation with Vytelle. There was also a lecture about linear scoring of cattle by beef cattle specialist Ilmar Kallas. The group visited also beef farm Topi Mõis in West-Estonia. The roadshow continued then in Latvia, where the group visited “Beef cattle auction house” and several beef and dairy farms.
