WellO2 takes a deep breath and enters the U.S. market
WellO2, a Finnish health tech company specializing in respiratory wellbeing, has taken its next big step toward global expansion. The company, known for its innovative breathing exercise device that combines counter-pressure and warm steam breathing, has now entered the U.S. market through Amazon – opening new opportunities for international growth.

Congratulations on your new deal! Please tell us a bit about WellO2 and your U.S. market entry.
WellO2 is a Finnish health tech company that focuses on respiratory wellbeing. Our flagship product, the WellO2 device, is a non-medical aid designed to strengthen the lungs and ease breathing difficulties. The technology is globally patented and today, more than 130,000 devices have been sold worldwide – primarily across the Nordic countries since our launch in 2016.
Our entry into the U.S. market required careful consideration of digital distribution strategies. Through rigorous evaluation and strategic partnerships with industry advisors, we identified Amazon’s marketplace as the most effective channel to reach our target audience. Since establishing our presence few months ago, we have been successfully serving U.S. customers through this platform.
Entering a new market is never easy. How did you prepare for it?
The journey from initial market exploration to our official U.S. Amazon marketplace launch spanned approximately 18 months of intensive preparation. Throughout this period, we maintained strategic partnerships with local advisors who provided invaluable market insights, while simultaneously identifying and onboarding the right operational partners. This foundational phase was critical for mastering Amazon’s complex operational framework and adapting our product offerings to align with platform requirements and regulatory standards.
