WSM in the media: young people’s pathways into water safety education
The WSM – Water Safety Methodology project was recently highlighted in a radio broadcast featuring Darja Rovba and Georg Viršitš, one of the youngest members of the team.
During the broadcast, it was noted that Georg began his journey by completing the WSM programme, through which he gained a strong understanding of key water safety topics and risk awareness. His experience was used as an example of how early engagement in structured, youth-friendly water safety education can lead to long-term motivation and skill development.
The radio discussion also highlighted that the WSM programme is now fully developed, with the methodological manual in its finalisation stage, ready for wider use by organisations working with young people.
The broadcast demonstrated how WSM supports young people in building knowledge, confidence and interest in water safety through accessible and non-traditional learning approaches.
