Project name:

Succeed in Business – complex entrepreneurship training for young people 18-25 years old, who come from low-income families and reside in Latvia, Estonia and Finland (acronym: Succeed in Business)

Project aim:

A common cross-border opportunity is represented by increasing the business potential of young people from low-income families and improving their ability to enter the labour market, build a successful career in a company or open their own business and gain satisfaction from their job.

Therefore, the project overall objective is to create and implement a cross-border training course consisting of 207 learning hours, which will introduce participants to the business environment in 3 countries, expand their vision of how companies operate in each of them, dive into a larger pool of ideas, identify market niches they could occupy in the region and build long-lasting connections in neighbouring countries, which is expected to result in establishment of viable companies with a cross-border focus.

Project activities:

The complex and dynamic cross-border training course will last for 1 year, encompass 7 face-to-face and 10 online events and will be conducted twice: in Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. Participants in each cycle of the project will be able to consider in theory the issues of creating a business and various aspects of its development, as well as engage in practical activities. It is also planned to work in international teams of 5-6 people for 4 months to develop the selected business idea.

18 thematic mentors will be available for help. As a result, young people will get ready for a release of a minimum viable product (MVP) and a business launch and have concrete action plans for all company domains studied earlier.

Results planned:

82 young people from low-income families in Latvia, Finland and Estonia will be active participants in the training course during 2 cycles. Trainees will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies, as well as Tampere University of Applied Sciences which will outline topics and learning hours. The hours can be transferred into credit points in formal education.

Project duration:

1st May 2024 – 31st October 2026
