Workshops
During the late autumn, the SuRuMo project has conducted workshops at the various pilot sites (3 in Östergötland, 4 in Kurzeme, and 4 in Riga). The purpose of these workshops has been to support community-driven sustainable mobility planning by engaging in dialogue with local residents to develop tailored mobility solutions for each pilot site based on local needs.
During the workshops, participants worked in groups to identify their primary mobility needs – daily destinations, habits, and challenges – as well as to share their perspectives on existing mobility solutions. This process enables the project to gain a deeper understanding of the specific needs at each site and to explore how these needs can be met moving forward.
The project has also procured a provider for the digital platform where different mobility solutions will be made available to the residents of the pilot sites. The company awarded the contract is Freelway, which already has experience working with similar platform solutions. In early spring, the project will assess what adaptations are needed for the tool.
Looking back, we can reflect on a productive and inspiring autumn, and we are pleased to see the strong interest in participating in the workshops across all pilot sites. Now, we look forward to taking the next steps in the project and developing the platform in collaboration with the provider.
