New sales through subscriptions in the U.S. market for Virtual Dawn!

Virtual Dawn, a Finnish XR/AI company based in Tampere, has taken its first steps into the U.S. market following a successful presence at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. The trip led to new subscribers and promising business leads – a milestone that marks the start of a long-term presence across the Atlantic. We caught up with the team to hear more about their product, their journey, and how Bridging4Growth supported their expansion.

Can you tell us a bit about Virtual Dawn and the new business you secured in the U.S.?

Virtual Dawn develops a Unity Software Development Kit (SDK) that makes it easier for users to create immersive XR experiences. Through a subscription, users get access to custom simulations, ready-made templates, and a creative community that supports and accelerates development.

Our customers include universities, businesses, museums, military clients – and of course, individual creators. We’re a team of passionate developers who want to help people express their ideas through immersive technology. Today, we host a growing community of over 500 creators and professionals who use our platform to bring their XR ideas to life.

Earlier this year, we attended the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. We met with new users, secured subscriptions, and made business connections that have opened new doors for us. We can now officially say we’ve made our first business in the U.S. – and we’re there to stay.

Piercing into a new market can be hard. How did you prepare?

We did our research – but most of all, we prepared to prove ourselves. The world is full of companies promising amazing things, and if you want to stand out, you need to show what you’ve got and make it easy for people to access it. That’s what we focused on.

How did the Bridging4Growth program support you?

The support from our mentor and the Bridging4Growth team helped us focus on the right things and see the potential. Their guidance played a key role in making this opportunity happen in the first place.

What’s your top tip for companies entering a new market?

Put your feet on the ground and keep going. Nothing happens overnight, and there might be silence at first. But don’t stop. Promote your work, reach out, and keep telling your story. If you believe in it, others will too.
