Paths2Work

Young people with disabilities in Finland and Estonia face similar barriers to employment, including employer prejudice and difficulties transitioning from school to work. Although both countries have developed support approaches, these have rarely been shared across borders. The project brings together partners to test and compare two methods: group-based workshops and individual coaching. The project’s aim is to provide practical support while generating transferable knowledge on which methods work best in different situations. Ultimately, the project seeks to improve employment outcomes and strengthen long-term labour market inclusion for young people with disabilities.

Expected results

The project will support over 120 young people with disabilities by helping them build skills, gain work experience, and connect with employers. It will also train job coaches and engage more than 100 employers across Finland and Estonia to promote inclusive recruitment practices. Through cross-border collaboration, the partners will develop transferable tools and establish a lasting international network. Joint implementation, knowledge exchange, and evaluation will generate practical evidence on which methods work best, for whom, and under what conditions. The project will create lasting impact by expanding inclusive employment opportunities for young people with disabilities in Finland, Estonia, and beyond.
