WWF Baltic Sea Programme at Östersjöveckan: Showcasing Solutions for a Healthier Sea
The WWF Baltic Sea Programme was proud to be a part of this year’s Östersjöveckan in Stockholm, a week-long event that brings together individuals, organizations, and governments to discuss and address the challenges facing the Baltic Sea. Together with other NGOs, we participated in the exhibition “10 lösningar för ett friskare hav”, where we presented our work on the Baltic Coastal Programme (BaltCOP) and the Baltic Sea Farmer Award.
As one of the 10 featured solutions, we highlighted the importance of working with farmers and landowners to reduce pollution and promote sustainable land use in the Baltic Sea region. The BaltCOP project, led by Mats Johansson, aims to reduce nutrient pollution and promote sustainable land use in the Baltic Sea region. “By working together with farmers and landowners, we can make a significant difference in reducing pollution and restoring the health of the Baltic Sea,” says Mats Johansson. “BaltCOP is a great example of how we can get Catchment officers working with landowners to scale up restoration which can help improve the health of the Baltic Sea .”
We believe that this collaboration is key to restoring the health of the Baltic Sea, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to protect this unique and vital ecosystem. The Östersjöveckan event provided a great opportunity for us to connect with other stakeholders and showcase our work, and we are excited to see the impact that these solutions can have in the years to come.
