Exploring Marketing Mastery: Highlights from Our Riga Event and March Online Seminars

Our third in-person event took place on January 12-13 in the vibrant capital of Latvia, Riga! For two exciting days, the stage was dedicated to the captivating world of marketing, sales, and customer relationships.

The first day kicked off with an insightful presentation by Jelena Sterhova, a leading expert from the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. She explored the pivotal role and core responsibilities of a marketing specialist within a company, delved into the characteristics of target audiences, and demonstrated the stages of the sales funnel. Jelena’s talk was brought to life with vivid examples, making complex concepts easy to grasp.

Participants from three different countries were actively engaged in team exercises, putting their newfound knowledge into practice. The highlight of the day was when the use of the sales funnel in the context of finding a partner on Tinder sparked genuine laughter among attendees. It’s safe to say that business comics, one of the speaker’s signature techniques, were a hit!

Next, a series of well-known videos created by one of the largest marketing agencies in Latvia – Magic – was presented. The Six Thinking Hats method was used by the project participants to comprehensively evaluate one of the agency’s creations.

The story of Natalja Sulacka, Executive Director of Palms Beach Club, served as the foundation for developing marketing strategies for her company. The marketing videos created by our talented youth were nothing short of impressive!

The second day blended both theory and practical insights, starting with an intriguing session on Guerrilla Marketing Hacks. Participants also had the pleasure of listening to Anna Krapane, the founder and owner of Content Philosophy, a digital marketing agency. As a seasoned speaker, Anna shared her unique business strategies and personal insights, leaving the audience inspired.

A special presentation also took place during the seminar. Jānis Valdmanis, a project participant from Latvia, gave a fascinating talk titled “Insights into the Latvian Business Environment,” offering his peers a deeper understanding of the country’s business landscape and sharing some intriguing facts about life in Latvia.

The topic continued in two online events on March 4th and 11th. The first meeting offered a deep dive into Guerrilla Marketing, group discussions of homework assignments, and a presentation by business representative Kārlis Leiboms, Marketing Manager of Roadgames. His presentation, intriguingly titled “Practical Things Anyone Can Do for Free to Learn Marketing and Attract Sales”, aroused significant interest among participants.

The final seminar featured an interpretation of marketing by Sven Rassl, a partner from Tampere University of Applied Sciences, as well as two presentations from Estonia. Kristi Jõesaar demonstrated the critical importance of effective communication in customer relationships, focusing on social media, and explained how skillful client communication can prevent and resolve problems.

Mariliis Maremäe emphasized the significance of creating customer profiles based on research, grouping potential buyers by shared characteristics. The final touch of the seminar was an interesting task for the participants: Who is the ideal customer for OMA Boba, the popular bubble tea brand that started in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2021?

This fascinating business topic was explored in such an engaging way!

See you in Tartu at the end of March!
