ÅMI sings along with Brändö, Kumlinge and Sottunga islands
08Aug2026. ÅMI vice-rector Bertil Andersson traveled to Brändö and Kumlinge islands to give a demonstration of the musical possibilities provided by the ACROSS low-latency remote stations. Brändö school connected to ÅMI and SMI and played some Creedence Clearwater Revival together. Kumlinge school connected to ÅMI and Sottunga. The public on Kumlinge joined Sottunga and ÅMI for a sing-along of Swedish classic “Himlen är Oskyldig Blå”. They also got to enjoy listening to one of ÅMI’s young singers as she sang “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman.
We want to thank Mia Hanström for helping to organize these events, making them such a success. Additionally, we thank all the musicians who participated: guitarist Henrik Albertsen from Sottunga, cajon player Ewert Gustafsson, piano player (and rector) Emanuele Ferrari, guitarist (and vice-rector) Bertil Andersson, singer Philip Björkqvist, and student singer Chantelle von Frenckell.
