Basics of Textile Testing -training at RTU

From September 23 to 27 2024, Riga Technical University’s (RTU) Personal Protective Equipment Laboratory (PPELab) hosted an intensive training program titled “Basics of Textile Testing”. The training attracted a group of participants eager to expand their knowledge of textile materials and testing processes, offering them both theoretical insights and practical, hands-on experience.

Throughout the five-day training, participants delved into the fundamentals of textiles, learning about the wide-ranging applications of textiles in various industries and importance of textile testing. Under the supervision of highly qualified specialists, attendees gained practical skills by engaging in real-world tasks, experiencing the daily work of textile testers firsthand. The comprehensive training covered every step of the process, from sample preparation and testing execution to documentation, ensuring participants left with a solid understanding of how to conduct material tests with accuracy and precision.

One of the core objectives of the training was to equip participants with practical skills that extend beyond the textile industry. By mastering testing techniques and familiarizing themselves with industry standards, attendees are now better positioned to apply these valuable skills in a range of sectors, thereby enhancing their employability. The program not only provided participants with a strong foundation in textile testing but also contributed to their professional development, fostering an increase in employment opportunities in an ever-evolving market. PPELab remains committed to offering such training programs in the future, supporting individuals in building the competencies required to succeed in diverse technical fields.
