Building the Next Phase: Enhanced ERA Partners and Mentors Prepare for Second Training Round

Partners and mentors of the Enhanced Employment Opportunities in Rural Areas (Enhanced ERA) project gathered in Lahemaa, Estonia for a joint meeting and mentor training focused on strengthening collaboration and preparing for the next phase of the program.

Set against the inspiring backdrop of Lahemaa National Park, the meeting combined strategic planning with hands-on learning. The program began with a joint introductory session, bringing partners and mentors together to align on the goals of the training and share perspectives. At Vihula Manor, participants explored practical case studies on how to attract visitors to rural tourism businesses, alongside activities aimed at enhancing communication skills and building connections with mentees.

The following days balanced joint activities with parallel sessions. Project partners worked on designing the second round of training, including online modules, local sessions, and participant recruitment. Alongside this, mentors engaged in practical exercises to strengthen their mentoring skills.

Field visits played an important role in the program, showcasing how local heritage and community assets can support rural entrepreneurship. Participants visited places such as Palmse, Altja fishing village, and Vergi harbour, gaining inspiration from real-life examples of how culture, nature, and storytelling can be transformed into meaningful business opportunities.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, teamwork, and inspiration. It strengthened the partnership across countries and ensured that both mentors and project partners are well prepared to support the next generation of rural entrepreneurs.
