CeMeWE project partner meeting at Riga Technical University

From February 3rd to February 5th, Riga Technical University hosted a productive partner meeting of the CeMeWE project. The 3-day discussion was attended by the CeMeWE project partners from Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. Its goal was to ensure that all of the necessary tasks were completed and that the project managers were informed about the results that the partners had achieved. To understand the agenda better, a detailed description of the accomplished tasks will be provided below.

First day – 3rd of February
The first day of the partner meeting was both the day of arrival and the start of the discussion. The day started with an overview of the project and a conversation about the way the results can be achieved. Afterwards, the project materials were reviewed, and the goals for the end of the project were set. Partners had a discussion about the further activities as well. After the main conversation, partners were invited to join the “Burnout seminar” event, organized by the Riga Technical University for project participants in Riga.
Second day – 4th of February
The second day of the partner meeting held a conference, “Empowering migrant women”, which aimed at presenting the results of the CeMeWE in different partner countries. The event started with a presentation from Andra Marta Babre about the statistical results that CeMeWE Riga had achieved. Then, Sanna Hämäläinen from Laurea University showed the activities that were conducted within the project in Finland. Afterwards, Inga Dāboliņa spoke about the Textile Testing Course and the activities done within the course. Kristiina Tomik introduced the struggles that women encounter in the Estonian job market, as well as showed the events that happened during the CeMeWE project implementation in Estonia. After lunch, the stage was taken by Kina Nordlund from RUP, who shared her experience of working and organizing SMILE groups. Then, Ieva Zeiferte and Diāna Kačane from the Zemgale planning region shared the stories of Ukrainian women who reached out to them, and showed the changes that occurred in their lives after participation in CeMeWE.

The day ended with the panel discussion led by Swathi Babu, where three active participants of the CeMeWE project shared their experience with navigation of the work market in Latvia. They shared their struggles and spoke about the moments of small successes.
Third day – 5th of February

This day was meant for the formulation of the main tasks that partners need to do. During it, the partners had a fruitful discussion about the future of the project and finished the tasks on the agenda of the meeting. The day ended with a short networking break and departures.
The partner meeting, initially planned as a discussion session, turned into a productive work session, which allowed all of the partners to draw their own conclusions. By sharing the results of the project, all participants were able to stay informed about the novelties within the CeMeWE, as well as learn more about the events that all of the partners organized.
This activity was supported as part of Project – Central Baltic Mentoring for Migrant Women seeking Employment – CeMeWE CB0100070, as Interreg Central Baltic Programme 2021-2027 project co-funded by the European Union.
