Elderly men share their experiences of developing museum services
As the CoMe Stronger project is coming to an end, we are taking time to reflect on the voices and experiences that have shaped our work. One of the most meaningful parts of the project has been the involvement of elderly men who have actively contributed to developing museum services. We are now happy to share a new video where these participants talk about what being part of the project has been like for them.
Through user panels, the men have collaborated with museums by sharing insights, testing ideas, and helping shape services from their perspective. In the video, they describe – in their own words – the value of being heard, contributing, and the sense of purpose that comes from meaningful participation.
Their stories highlight how involving the target group in service development can enrich museum work and lead to solutions that truly resonate with their needs. We hope this video encourages other museums and cultural institutions to explore similar user panel models and to continue developing inclusive, participatory practices. To support that, the project has also produced user panel guidelines that can be found in the project materials.
