Project LEF Network Azerbaijan 1st incoming trade mission
From 26 May to 2 June, project LEF Network Azerbaijan first incoming trade mission took place in Latvia, Estonia and Finland, attracting companies from Azerbaijan and the Central Baltic region. The mission, organised in cooperation with Caspian Energy Club, brought together 10 Azerbaijani companies representing the education and green technology sectors.
At the beginning of the mission, on 27 May, the companies visited companies in Riga and its surroundings. They met Latvian universities, technology companies, laboratories, material producers and waste management companies. The individual visits provided an opportunity to get to know local innovations and technologies better and to foster new collaborations.
On 28 May, the Central Baltic – Azerbaijan Business Forum was held at the National Library of Latvia, attended by about 70 participants. During the Forum, entrepreneurs and officials actively discussed economic ties and cooperation opportunities between the countries, creating new perspectives and promoting international business development.
The delegation then travelled to Tallinn, Estonia, from 29 to 30 May, where the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided a programme including presentations from the education technology sector and a visit to the e-Estonia Centre, Estonia’s provider of digitisation and IT services. This experience provided an opportunity to learn about Estonia’s success in the field of technology and digitisation.
The mission finished in Finland, where the companies spent from 31 May to 2 June in Helsinki. Satakunta University representatives introduced the Finnish education system by organising visits to kindergartens, universities and one-to-one meetings with green technology companies. These activities provided an in-depth understanding of the Finnish approach to education and green technology.
This mission was organised in framework of project LEF Network Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and Caspian Energy Club, co-funded by the Interreg Central Baltic Programme. The mission is an important step towards closer cooperation and innovation exchange between Azerbaijan and the Central Baltic region, fostering international business development and creating new opportunities.
