Riga Wins the European Mobility Week Award 2025

The city of Riga, Latvia has been named the winner of the European Mobility Week Award 2025, in recognition of its efforts to promote active and sustainable urban mobility.
This year’s Mobility Week programme in Riga included a wide range of activities, combining public engagement with structural improvements to the city’s transport infrastructure. Among the initiatives were temporary pedestrian zones, the ‘Riga Rolls’ campaign rewarding walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers, school and community mobility events, and permanent measures such as new cycling infrastructure and the introduction of 30 km/h zones.
Cycle4Climate contributed to the European Mobility Week activities in Riga through the C4C Cycling Conference, a professional event focused on cycling culture and sustainable urban planning. Read more about the conference here.
