Silverskill Training Program Inspires and Encourages Participants
The Silverskill training program, designed for individuals over 50 in the Ida-Virumaa region, began successfully with the Self-Definition module. Over three training sessions, participants delved into self-analysis, goal-setting, and building self-confidence, focusing on overcoming fears and achieving entrepreneurial success.
The program launched in October with the first training session (October 12), which provided an overview of the challenges older workers face in the labour market and explored participants’ expectations, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurial and digital skills. During the second session (October 26), participants analyzed their strengths and weaknesses and discussed how to harness these insights to achieve their goals. The third session (November 9) focused on overcoming fears and enhancing self-confidence through practical tools, such as a “Workbook” developed by the trainer. This tool guided participants in evaluating their confidence levels and identifying critical areas for improvement.
Key Discussion Topics:
- Self-analysis: “Who am I?” and “What are my strengths?”
- Fears: How to understand and address them effectively?
- Self-confidence: What does believing in oneself mean, and how can it grow over time?
- Entrepreneurial success: Building strong relationships, setting goals, and finding inspiration through mentors and like-minded individuals.
Participants highlighted that the training was inspiring and provided many practical ideas. “I realized that nothing is impossible,” one participant shared. Another added, “I learned how to better understand myself.”
An impressive 43% of respondents noted that the training exceeded their expectations, and most participants reported gaining the confidence to move forward with their plans.
The Silverskill program continues with additional modules—eight in total—offering participants the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills that broaden their horizons in the labour market and entrepreneurship.
