Sustainable Silage experiment started in LUKE, Finland
Sustainable Silage experimentation took place this week in Luke (Natural Resources Institute Finland), Jokioinen, Finland. We wanted to see how the dry matter content of grass and different types of silage additives affect the nutrient losses (effluent production, fermentation losses, aerobic stability) in silage making. The weather conditions provided sufficient challenge with rains just before and after the harvesting of grass. The silos are allowed to ferment for 3 months before opening and analyzing the results.
