The Water Safety Programme testing was successfully carried out at Laoküla Sea Camp
The training took part on 8th of July 2025 in Estonia. During the camp, young people aged 14–18 took part in both theoretical and practical training sessions, where they learned how to behave safely near water and how to act in different emergency situations. The training focused on recognising water-related risks, making safe decisions, and developing practical self-rescue and response skills.
The programme achieved very good results, with a noticeable increase in participants’ knowledge and understanding of water safety. The activities also generated high interest and strong engagement among young people, confirming the relevance and attractiveness of the methodology for the target group.
During the camp, young people aged 14–18 took part in an adapted version of the programme. Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the training was delivered in a lighter format without in-water practice. Nevertheless, the full theoretical component was completed, and the key rescue-related exercises, including the use of life-saving equipment, were successfully learned and practiced in a safe, controlled environment.
