TransFarm project visited Mežvidi Agricultural and Technology Park!
University of Latvia, a project partner in TransFarm Central Baltic Interreg project (CB0100007), is currently surveying relevant stakeholders of Aquaponics – urban farmers and other producers who are already involved or have strong interest in Aquaponic or Hydroponic food production.
The objective is to develop and improve understanding and involvement of urban and traditional farmers and consumers in Aquaponics, and take an insight to opportunities urban farming provides.
Just recently project staff of LU had fruitful conversation with Edgars Romanovskis, represending Mežvidi Agricultural and Technology Park (https://mezvidi.lv). This company is located on the eastern border of Latvia, and although their activities and range of food products are broader, in local food market they are best known for their tasty tomatoes.
