US Business Mission strengthens Nordic-Baltic health innovation collaboration

Eight Nordic and Baltic health technology companies recently took part in a business mission to the United States as part of the Interreg Health3-2-1 project, aimed at supporting international expansion into the US and UK healthcare markets.
The four-day programme brought together companies with investors, innovators, researchers and regional development organizations to gain first-hand insights into the US health innovation ecosystem and establish new partnerships.
The delegation met with representatives from Montgomery County, the Maryland Department of Commerce, Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) and the City of Gaithersburg to learn about the region’s innovation infrastructure, business support services and opportunities for international companies entering the US market.
Visits to the Rockville Innovation Center included meetings with local medtech companies, providing participants with opportunities to exchange experiences and explore potential collaborations. The programme also featured discussions with diagnostics innovators at the Germantown Innovation Center, an exchange with researchers from the University of Maryland’s Institute for Health Computing, and a networking reception hosted at the US Pharmacopeia.
The delegation also attended the BioHealth Capital Region Forum, one of the leading life science conferences in the United States, where participants engaged with industry leaders, investors and healthcare innovators from across the region.
According to participants, the mission provided valuable insights into the US healthcare landscape while strengthening international networks that can support future commercialization and collaboration.
The business mission was organized within the framework of the Interreg Health3-2-1 project, which helps Nordic and Baltic health innovation companies prepare for and expand into the UK and US markets through market intelligence, expert guidance and international business development activities.
The organizers extend their thanks to the many regional partners, ecosystem organizations and companies that contributed to the programme and helped showcase the opportunities available within the US life science and health technology ecosystem.
