WoDiLab Kick-off Events in Latvia and Estonia Launch Cross-Border Journey for Women in Digital Entrepreneurship

February 2026 marked a significant milestone for the WoDiLab – Women’s Digital Course Creation Lab project, as the first participant groups in Latvia and Estonia gathered for their kick-off events, officially launching their shared cross-border learning journey.

Rēzekne, Latvia: Building Community and Momentum

On 6 February 2026, the Latvian group met in person in Rēzekne (Latvia), at the KUUP coffee roastery. Although the women had already begun the 16-week WoDiLab programme online in early January, the kick-off event offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration, reflect on their initial weeks of learning, and deepen the sense of community within the group.

The event focused on connection, peer exchange, and forward planning. Participants shared their progress, discussed upcoming programme stages, and reaffirmed their commitment to developing their own online courses. The in-person meeting highlighted the importance of mutual support and cross-border cooperation within an international learning environment.

“WoDiLab is more than a training programme – it is a supportive space where women gradually build confidence, develop their ideas, and see themselves as active participants in digital entrepreneurship,” says Rita Ivanova, project expert and mentor from Daugavpils University.

Tartu, Estonia: First Meeting and New Beginnings

Just days later, on 11 February 2026, the first Estonian WoDiLab group gathered in Tartu, at the EluTuba Lava Taga venue. For the 19 women aged 40 and over who joined the programme in Estonia, this event marked their first in-person meeting and the official start of their learning journey.

The kick-off evening fostered a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Participants introduced their initial course ideas, shared professional backgrounds, and began forming meaningful connections. A strong group dynamic quickly developed, with several women already expressing interest in supporting one another as future course clients.

Carita Hommik (Excel with Carita) provided inspiration for the journey ahead, sharing practical insights and personal experience in building digital expertise and entrepreneurship.

Empowering Women Through Digital Skills and Cross-Border Cooperation

WoDiLab supports women aged 40 and over in Latvia and Estonia to develop digital skills, strengthen self-confidence, and create new income opportunities. The programme guides participants step by step through designing, testing, and launching their own online courses.

In the coming months, participants will continue with structured online learning, mentoring support, and active cross-border collaboration between the Latvian and Estonian groups.

The project is led by Daugavpils University as lead partner and implemented in cooperation with Tartu Business Advisory Services in Estonia.

WoDiLab is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg Central Baltic Programme 2021–2027, supporting cross-border cooperation and regional development in the Central Baltic area.
