EMMA

Across the Central Baltic region, many young and stay-at-home mothers face significant structural barriers to employment and entrepreneurship, leading to underutilized female talent. To address this challenge, the EMMA project focuses on helping mothers aged 19–29 enter the labour market by unlocking their professional potential. The project will deliver a comprehensive support ecosystem specifically tailored to the realities of motherhood. Through flexible training programs, mentoring, and mini-incubators, participants will gain the necessary skills and confidence to develop their business ideas. Ultimately, this solution will reduce the risk of social exclusion and foster the integration of mothers into the regional economy.

Expected results

The project expects to successfully engage 96 young mothers in an extensive cross-border training cycle and post-training support system. Following this initial training, a core group of at least 36 participants will actively test and develop their business ideas within mini-incubators and mentorship frameworks. This process will directly lead to a positive cross-border impact by establishing an active international network, boosting self-confidence, and increasing entrepreneurship levels across Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. Additionally, the creation of joint Mini-Incubator Guidelines will provide a lasting legacy blueprint, allowing other municipalities in the region to replicate this success and support female self-employment long after the project ends.
