Enhanced Employment Opportunities in Rural Areas

The project “Enhanced Employment Opportunities in Rural Areas” seeks to foster entrepreneurship among residents of rural regions in restricted areas (nature protected areas and archipelagos), with a particular emphasis on individuals aged 50 and above as well as young people. The initiative aims to enhance employment prospects by providing access to entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

At the outset, participants’ training needs will be systematically assessed, forming the basis for the development of individualised learning pathways. These pathways encompass a range of thematic areas, including entrepreneurship, self-employment, microenterprise development, community engagement, cultural heritage preservation, tourism, and service provision. Key dimensions of the programme also include innovation, the digital business environment, and the formulation of business plans.

The programme comprises a combination of in-person workshops, international online training modules, continuous mentorship, cross-border networking activities, intensive courses, study visits, and self-directed learning. Each participant is assigned a dedicated mentor, who provides guidance and support throughout the duration of the programme. Upon completion, participants are expected to develop and present a comprehensive business plan, synthesising the knowledge and skills acquired.
