FRUGAL CIRCLES

FRUGAL CIRCLES

Across the Central Baltic region, large amounts of textiles and household goods are thrown away even though they could be reused, repaired, or shared. Frugal Circles aims to promote positive aspects of frugal lifestyle in communities, while addressing regional challenges such as high waste levels, low reuse rates, and the lack of accessible circular models. At the heart of the initiative are Frugal Living Labs, which support the development of communal repair-swap-and-share marketplaces, while also piloting educational and awareness activities that make these practices accessible to all. Through these labs and educational activities, the project makes sustainable habits simple and available to everyone.

Expected results

Frugal Circles is expected to reduce waste and resource use in the Central Baltic region by giving communities practical, low-cost tools to reuse textiles and household goods. The project will build stronger social connections within communities while also creating models of good practice that others can copy and scale up. By connecting partners across four countries, the project enables knowledge-sharing and cross-border learning, so that what works in one community can be repeated elsewhere. As a result, these communities are better equipped to live and consume more sustainably.
